Robust and Mac:11(known on 18th St. as Barrio and Bo) met over a discussion of "who got bars?" on the smoking patio of Harbees Liquors in Pilsen many years ago. They quickly realized that they both had some "bars" and began spending a lot of time in Mac:11's studio located across the street. Long time friend, producer and collaborator Max Julian sent this beat during the Chicago Polar Vortex in February 2019. Locked inside with a pot roast, cabin fever, handles of whiskey, nose beers, and whatever else you can imagine, Robust and Mac:11 wrote and recorded this song in a day to express the sentiment of "walking out the front door and feeling like I stepped in a freezer." After the song was completed they walked through the tundra like weather and took it over to R Matthew Sherrell's studio to add some warmth with live keys and harmonic vocals.
